Thanks for the comment and confirmation regarding the US plans. I've not looked into them too much yet - will probably do so later today; however was hoping to get my own UK contract sorted first.

The price plans are quite same as you have described.
I also agree that it would make more sense from a customer perspective to say when plans will be released and release them on that date.

I've not looked into the US market too much, but what I did see before were the 2 year deals and not the more flexible and comparative UK deals. I do feel that in terms of packages we get, we are one of the world leaders. Look how far behind us the Americans were when it came to text messaging!

I agree, it would make far more sense from a customer perspective to say when plans will be released and release them on that date.

I've not yet seen the news you mention about Apple UK stocks; however I firmly believe that given we are still a week or so off delivery that this reflects what I was trying to highlight in my post about the Apple marketing machine being in full flow. Basic economics of supply and demand = price point in effect here.

can see how it is probably hard for the front line people getting same question over and over, but why is it that at&t can release their tarrif details and have pre-order on time ready for 24th, yet over here the 15th has been and gone and still nothing.

Id rather it if voda said look, we will have prices by X date and pre order on, but so far saying nothing is just getting everyone annoyed.

if todays news is to be believed apparently apple uk has sold out in the uk already as well, so lets hope this wont have a knock on effect for the network sales
