iOS 5 is out. Apple’s servers are melting under the load of people trying to download it, Mac updates, iTunes updates and other software updates like iPhoto and Aperture. Thankfully, there is a faster way to download the firmware updates. Click the appropriate link below and directly download it rather than relying on that unstable / unreliable download via iTunes.

iPod Touch

5.0 (4G): iPod4,1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw

iPad

5.0 (iPad 1): iPad1,1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw

5.0 (iPad 2 Wi-Fi): Pad2,1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw

5.0 (iPad 2 GSM): iPad2,2_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw

5.0 (iPad 2 CDMA): iPad2,3_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw

iPhone

Once you’ve got the file, simply hold down shift and click the restore button in iTunes for your device and manually point to the firmware file you’ve downloaded.
